LIFE-AgRemSO3il technical meeting
A technical meeting between some of the LIFE-AgRemSO3il beneficiaries – IMIDA, CEBAS-CSIC and NOVAGRIC – was held on 10th January.
During the meeting, the results of tests carried out during the summer on IMIDA facilities (Murcia) were discussed and decisions on the study of new materials, design of the next experiments, and improvements to the equipment were taken.
About LIFE+ AgRemSO3il
The LIFE AgRemSO3il pilot project aims to develop new innovative technology, at a large farm-scale, using agrochemical remediation in farm soils by combining solarization and ozonation in situ. This innovative solution involves building new technological applications (giant equipment) and using methods that advance oxidation processes, which are called ozonation and H2O2; or solarization. The project provides a new cost-effective solution for this ongoing, silent problem while supporting the soil’s true function as part of the wider ecosystem positively impacting the feed and food products produced, which have consequent effects on human health. The project also plans to integrate into its work Common Agriculture Policy’s environmental objectives and promote EU’s agriculture and environmental policies.

According to the United Nations, World Soil Day (WSD) is held annually on 5 December as a means to focus attention on the importance of healthy soil and to advocate for the sustainable management of soil resources.
How AGREMSO3IL project mitigates soil and water pollution
As we celebrate World Water Week (WWWeek), we are always reminded by the importance of water resources in our daily lives. According to the Government of the Netherlands, “water is key to the wellbeing and resilience of people, societies, and our global economy. Covid-19 has reminded us that water is at the heart of a range of key challenges.”
AGREMSO3IL Project Prototype Transfer
The prototype has been transferred to the pilot farm. On June 26th a very important milestone of the Agremso3il project took place.
