Read how PRODIGIO project is ready to contribute to net-zero emission target by 2050
There is a long way before the world fully adopts, if possible, to net-zero emission.

The International Energy Agency (IEA) recently published its report (click here to view the report or download from the link below) of a pathway to reach net-zero emissions by 2050, no matter how narrow the path, it is expected to bring huge benefits.
According to the IEA press release, the report is “the world’s first comprehensive study of how to transition to a net-zero energy system by 2050 while ensuring stable and affordable energy supplies, providing universal energy access, and enabling robust economic growth.” Dr. Fatih Birol, the IEA Executive Director, said that the roadmap shows actions that are being prioritized to ensure that the net-zero emissions by 2050 are front and center.
The PRODIGIO project is doing its part to contribute to the success of this global target. It aims to contribute to the challenge of bringing renewable energy technologies faster to commercialization by establishing a base of knowledge for the development of a system failure prediction technology that will boost the sustainable and cost-effective production of biogas and from microalgae biomass.
Microalgae biomethanisation represents an exciting new avenue of biotechnology, which is strongly advocated in the EU recently as a truly sustainable renewable fuel technology and a circular bioeconomy. The project will contribute to efficiency-enhancing technologies and feedstock diversification, boosting the economic, environmental, and social benefits of this renewable energy technology, while contributing to the EU’s leadership in bioenergy.
Dr. Birol has said that “the clean energy transition is for and about people,” and this roadmap shows a huge opportunity for the global economies is upon us even with the challenges of transitioning to a net-zero energy system. Once the PRODIGIO project shares its results, we believe we will be one step ahead in achieving the goal.
